About an hour ago, I submitted my petition to change my last name. Seems like an insane thing to do as I'm set to apply for my first-ever passport, but there's a method to the madness. Or at least, I think there is one. 

Without delving in my the chaos that was my childhood, I want the last name on my passport to be mine. I don't care to elaborate on this, maybe I will at some point, but just now, strangerfriend, that I am completely at peace with this decision, and very happy that it's finally happening. May the court process for the name change be quick and without any issues. I'm ready to have my new name AND my new passport.

The passport application process is currently on hold, due to the aforementioned need to change my name. Blame it on my ADHD, but the name change could have been done months ago, but, again, ADHD. I have the attention span of a gnat, and combined with my depression, some things simply fall through the cracks. 

Such is life. Or should I say, c'est la vie?
